Maiolica technique on terra cotta bisque. Design combines a number of classic Italian Renaissance maiolica design motifs. The squiggles along the top of the pitcher are known as San Bernardino rays. The fish scales motif and a triangles with ovoid flowers were commonly used border decoration. |
